We are officially 1 year away from the start of the Olympic Games in Rio and there is no better time than the present to introduce you to my newest Olympic partner, Rebecca Soni. Rebecca is an amazing addition to our team and will play the role of drowning prevention ambassador for Evolution Swim Academy. Rebecca is a 3x Olympic gold medalist, multiple time world champion and former world record holder in the 200M breaststroke. Needless to say, she knows swimming and how important swimming is at an early age.
Rebecca Soni, World Record Holder and Olympic Gold medalist
Rebecca decided to join our team because she is passionate about swimming, drowning prevention and about our ongoing initiative of promoting safer swimmers through year-round swim lessons. Our vision is clear and we do understand that not every student in our program will go on to swim in the Olympics, but one thing is for sure, every child needs to learn to swim. I welcome Rebecca and you can expect to see her around the swim center here in Mission Viejo in the coming months.
So now that you have met Rebecca (at least in writing) let me tell you about a few things that will be going on in the fall that I think are pretty exciting. September is the start of a new school year and it is also the start of the Gators Swim Club swim season. The Gators Swim Club is just coming off of its most successful season of swim, culminating in a 3rd place finish at the Junior Olympics in Mission Viejo. Many of the swimmers that represented us at Junior Olympics got their start at Evolution Swim Academy in swim lessons. Now, it’s your turn. We have made it very easy to join the team. Long gone are the days when it took a commitment of at least 3 days per week to participate on a swim team. The Gators Swim Club offers its Intro to Gators swim program which asks for a 1x or 2x per week commitment and these swimmers are free to participate in swim meets (swim meets are optional). How cool is that? Now you can swim and do fall sports at the same time, without conflict. For more information about the Gators Swim Club, click HERE.
If you are on the opposite end of the spectrum and you are just getting started with lessons, we are launching a pretty unique program that focuses on the needs of our most fearful and tearful swimmers. In September, we are officially launching the Accelerator program. This program is designed to get your child from being fearful to being confident about swim lessons in a matter of 5 days. We have tested this program on about 25 students and have a 100% success rate. We focus on immediately eradicating the fear that these young students feel for the water and turning that fear into confidence. We focus on three basic water acclimation skills and once those skills become second nature, these students are ready to co-exist with another student in a semi-private intro to safety swim lesson. We are very excited about this lesson plan and I know that we will help more students quickly lose their feel for the water so that they can start to enjoy the swim lesson journey. For more information about this program, click HERE.
Now that I have detailed the Intro to Gators program and the Accelerator program, I would like to make you aware of a partnership that we have formed with Front Porch Pops. This is a company that makes popsicles out of natural ingredients, sourced from local farmers, and puts them into some of the most delicious treats around. When you enter the lobby area of the swim school, look to where the coffee is and you will see the freezer that holds these amazing treats. I have selected 8 flavors that I think you and your children will love. The treats are $3.00 each and can be billed to your swim school account or paid for with a credit card. Enjoy these, because I know that I do.
On a final note, I want to thank you for your support over the past six months. It is because of your support that we are officially going to open on Fridays come September. You can start to schedule your Friday lessons immediately. We will be offering morning and afternoon lessons and they start the week of August 31st.
I look forward to being in touch and I look forward to seeing you in Mission Viejo or wherever our paths may cross. If you need to get ahold of me, my email is [email protected]. I am always available to you.
Sincerely,
Felipe Delgado
