May is Drowning Prevention Awareness Month

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:02+00:00 May 2nd, 2017|

We are all humans. We do make mistakes and yes, it can happen to you. No matter how careful we are, all it takes is a 30-second distraction to send us into panic mode because we cannot locate a child. Even worse is not being able to locate them when there is a body of [...]

Chlorine: Good or bad for our swimmers?

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:02+00:00 March 1st, 2017|

When clients come to our facility and ask if we have a salt water pool, we are not quite sure what to answer. It’s not an easy question to respond to. We get what our clients are asking but the answer is a bit more complicated than you would imagine. Let me start by detailing [...]

Find Your Freedom At Evolution Swim Academy

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:02+00:00 January 31st, 2017|

You may have noticed over the past few weeks that we have been using the catch phrase “Find Your Freedom.” If you look at our social media channels or on our website homepage, “Find Your Freedom” is prominently displayed as a graphic of one of our students taking flight. By | 2017-10-24T13:42:03+00:00 August 31st, 2016|

Turnover and Working with the Millennial Generation

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:03+00:00 March 30th, 2016|

I have a dilemma. We have too much turnover in my company. We hire young, energetic people that are from the millennial generation, for the most part. We hire the very people that Senator Bernie Sanders speaks to about free public university. These good people are defined, loosely, as people who were born from the [...]

Learn to Swim v. Learn to Survive

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:03+00:00 February 29th, 2016|

So what’s the difference between learning to swim and learning to survive? We hear it all the time, “my child knows how to swim." We get her in the water (we will use a female child for this example) and sure enough, the child can swim, doggie paddle, etc. a few feet like a champ. Your [...]

Connecting With Clients

By | 2017-10-24T13:42:03+00:00 February 3rd, 2016|

This past week I was reminded on two separate occasions that connecting with my clients is not so much about selling as it is about connecting. The first conversation I had was with a client who was patiently watching her daughter transition from being a timid and fearful student to a confident student ready to transition to semi-private [...]

Let the Holiday Season Begin!

With the Halloween festivities now behind us and the holiday season officially in full swing, we now look forward to lots of food, spending time with family and great holiday deals. Halloween takes special meaning in my family because it is an opportunity for us to take our yearly family picture. This year, as we [...]
