With the summer just weeks away, we are in the midst of experiencing the proverbial “calm before the storm.” This year is a just a bit different from previous years because we have added a couple of new locations and we are just days from officially rolling out two new levels that we recently incorporated into our curriculum.
We are proud of our partnership with our seasonal locations. They are all open now and available for our seasonal families to enjoy. The big three locations, at least for the past few years, have been the Renaissance ClubSport in Aliso Viejo, Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis & Swim Club in Laguna Hills and Ladera Ranch HOA. This year, we added a new seasonal location, Rancho Mission Viejo. We are excited to start a relationship with the Rancho Mission Viejo community and look forward to safer swimmers in the community!
We are a company that works to make sure that every child has access to premier learn-to-swim lessons so that together, we can reduce the drowning rates in Orange County. With the addition of Rancho Mission Viejo, all South OC families now have access to Evolution Swim Academy lessons within a 15-minute drive.
The second location that we added this year is Mission Viejo. Our state-of-the-art, indoor, learn-to-swim school has been well received and we are working hard to create a culture where learning to swim is a year-round activity v. a seasonal activity. We have built a facility where the elements have no impact on the quality of our lessons. Whether it’s June gloom, windy weather, too much sun or rain, it is always 86 degrees in our swim center with 90-degree water. If you have never been to our MV facility, come pay us a visit, we promise it will be worth your while.
Our curriculum is never complete. Over the past few months, we have been working hard to complete two new levels that address small gaps that we have identified in our current curriculum. Without further delay, I introduce you to the new levels:
Water Bugs 2: This lesson plan allows our Parent & Me lesson students to continue to work on water acclimation, while offering more free range of motion and having our students perform skills more challenging than those in the Water Bugs 1 lesson plan. If you are currently enrolled in Water Bugs 1 and feel as though you and your child may be ready for a more challenging Water Bugs level, please check in with our front desk staff or speak with your instructor to see if this is a good fit.
Accelerator Course: We created this lesson plan for the child that is very cautious and tends to cry during lessons. We identified a way to save our clients’ time and angst by offering a weeklong, 15-minute per day alternative to the 1x per week lesson plan. Here’s how it works. You will schedule these lessons and attend for five straight days. As an example, let’s say you start on Monday; you would go Monday – Thursday and Saturday (we do not offer lessons on Friday). The lessons last 15 minutes and the child learns three basic water acclimation skills; underwater comfort, wall grabs and basic back float. Our objective is to quickly acclimate our student to the water and reintegrate them into either a Parent & Me lesson or Safety lesson plan so that there is more learning and less crying. Taking this course assures that your child will be a safer swimmer, faster.

This summer is going to be a great one and as the warm weather descends upon us, we here at Evolution Swim Academy are ready and firing on all cylinders. Please remember that in addition to our swim lesson curriculum, we also offer Future Stars Swim Camp (starts June 22, 2015), Summer Swim Team (already in progress but sign ups are open throughout the spring and into summer), summer Sports Camps (first week of camp takes place on June 22nd) and amazing birthday party packages at the new indoor swim center in Mission Viejo.
